“Urban Sketches of Da Nang”: Discover the city through artists’ eyes
DNO - “Urban Sketches of Da Nang” exhibition will be on display from August 26 to September 15, 2026, at the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum, 78 Le Duan Street, capturing the city’s architecture, heritage and everyday life through the eyes of 20 artists.

It also highlights Da Nang’s cultural and artistic values while offering residents and visitors a fresh visual perspective on one of central Vietnam’s most dynamic destinations.
From July 9 to 13, 20 artists, including 12 from Da Nang and eight from other central Vietnamese provinces and cities, spent five days working directly in urban spaces, historical sites and neighbourhoods across the city.
The artists observed their surroundings, interacted with the city and captured scenes on location. Their works explore five broad themes: modern urban architecture; the daily life of coastal residents; historical and cultural sites and traditional architecture; world cultural heritage; and the architectural and cultural character of southern Da Nang.
There is a collection of 121 watercolour sketches, from which the museum’s curatorial council has selected 69 outstanding works for public display. For visitors, the sketches on display provide intimate glimpses of Da Nang, from contemporary buildings and lively streets to cultural landmarks and quieter scenes of everyday life.
Together, they portray a city where modern urban development coexists with layers of history and local identity.
In addition, the exhibition contributes to the long-term preservation of Da Nang’s visual heritage. Of the 69 selected works, 43 will be added to the Da Nang Museum’s collection, creating a valuable visual record for future research, conservation and cultural education.
