The one-kilometre walking event will begin at 5:30 a.m. at March 29 Square in Hoa Cuong Ward, bringing together civil servants, public employees, armed forces personnel, youth union members, young people, pupils, students, and local residents.

At the same time, communes and wards across the city will organise their activities at public locations that are convenient for gathering residents, with at least 200 participants per locality. Hoa Cuong, Hai Chau, Ngu Hanh Son and Hoa Xuan wards will participate in the city-level event instead of holding separate activities.

The event is part of activities marking the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, National Day on September 2, and the 81st anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Forces.

Organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the nationwide initiative aims to encourage regular exercise, healthier lifestyles, and greater community engagement. In Da Nang, it will also promote solidarity, environmental awareness, green living, and the city’s image.

The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will lead the organisation, working with the Department of Public Security, Nhan Dan Newspaper’s Central and Central Highlands representative office, the Hoa Cuong Ward People’s Committee and other relevant agencies.

Local authorities will also encourage residents to participate through an online platform that records registration and walking activity. The registration and participation-recording system opened on August 8 and will remain available until the event concludes.
