60 Myanmar travel agencies survey Da Nang’s tourism products

DNO - Visit Indochina, in collaboration with the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (UMTA) and the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on Wednesday, welcomed a famtrip delegation of 60 Myanmar travel agencies to experience tourism products and destinations in the city.

The delegation surveyed several of the city's popular tourist attractions and products, including Linh Ung Pagoda, Han Market and Ba Na Hills, as well as sampled local cuisine.

Additionally, the famtrip delegation participated in a mini-workshop where the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center introduced key highlights of the city's tourism sector.

Also, participants exchanged information on tourism connectivity, promotion and marketing activities.

Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, stated that the famtrip delegation comprised reputable and leading travel companies in Myanmar.

They were also long-standing partners of Visit Indochina in attracting visitors from Myanmar to Da Nang and Vietnam as a whole, he added.

He also emphasized the significance of the survey in introducing and promoting Da Nang's distinctive tourism products and services to travelers from Myanmar.

According to the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Myanmar has a population of more than 55 million.

The ASEAN member country shares close ties, friendly relations and cultural similarities with Vietnam. It is also identified as one of Da Nang's potential tourism markets.

In 2025, Da Nang welcomed 32,084 visitors from Myanmar, accounting for 0.42% of the city's total international visitor arrivals. In the first seven months of 2026, the number reached 39,080, representing 0.64% of the total international arrivals.

Currently, there are two direct flights per week from Yangon, Myanmar to Da Nang, helping attract more travelers from the Southeast Asian market.
