Da Nang eyes becoming AI city by 2030
DNO - To realize its goal of becoming an “AI (Artificial Intelligence) city” by 2030, Da Nang is accelerating the effective application of AI.
The city aims to become a hub for developing and testing AI products and solutions, as well as gradually establishing them to drive socio-economic development.
Positive results
According to the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the city’s AI ecosystem comprises four key components.
They are a public entity - the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Center for Research and Training (DSAC); 12 training and research and development (R&D) institutions; more than 60 companies applying AI, including FPT, Sphere AX and EM&AI; and infrastructure and data serving AI research, testing and deployment.
The city has recently achieved notable results in human resource training and development.
As of June 2026, nearly 4,700 students were studying AI and related fields in Da Nang.
Short-term and specialized training programs have also been continuously organized, including Build With AI, the Intel Gaudi & AI Software Platform Training Program and the DLI Ambassador certification program.
In terms of technological infrastructure, Da Nang has launched projects to expand digital infrastructure and cloud computing, and equipped GPU server infrastructure to support AI research, testing and real-world applications.
Da Nang offers a highly favorable environment for attracting foreign investment, with various preferential policies and attractive support mechanisms.
This represents a significant advantage for international information and communications technology (ICT) and AI companies when choosing a business location, developing human resources and expanding their long-term operations.

As a result, the city has begun applying AI to public administration through a document-processing support system and AI applications for smart meeting rooms.
Additionally, the innovation space at the Da Nang Software Park No. 2 has been equipped with a modern laboratory featuring 75 computers, AI servers and specialized EDA software to support the startup community.
Breakthrough support mechanisms and policies
To create a strong foundation for the AI ecosystem, the city has recently introduced a range of breakthrough support mechanisms and policies.
Notably, Da Nang provides exemptions from personal income tax and corporate income tax for five years for individuals and organizations operating in the semiconductor and AI sectors.
Da Nang aims to train
and attract 3,000 AI experts and engineers, as well as develop at least 30 AI products
under the Da Nang brand by 2030.
Beyond tax incentives, the city has introduced practical cost-support policies for businesses and strategic partners.
For instance, the municipal People’s Council’s Resolution No. 22 provides AI businesses and innovative startups with free office space at Da Nang Software Park No. 2 for up to three years.
For medium, small and micro-sized enterprises or science and technology organizations, the city will cover 25 - 50% of the cost of leasing information infrastructure assets.
Strategic AI partners are also eligible for support covering up to 5% of equipment procurement costs, capped at VND200 billion per project; 50% of office rental costs; 30% of the cost of hiring highly qualified personnel; and initial costs for establishing working spaces.
Meanwhile, AI experts and scientists coming to work in Da Nang will receive a one-time initial income support of VND100 million, accommodation support of VND20 million per month for up to one year, monthly income support of up to VND50 million, and R&D funding of up to VND50 million per month.
Ms. Dao Thi Thanh Thao, Deputy Director in charge of DSAC, expressed her hope that the synchronized development of infrastructure, outstanding incentive policies and high-quality human resources will turn AI into a new growth driver and help Da Nang establish itself as a leading innovation hub in the region.
