2026 Vietnam - South Korea Festival kicks off in Da Nang
DNO - The 2026 Vietnam - South Korea Festival in Da Nang officially opened on Friday evening at the East Sea Park, kicking off a series of unique cultural and artistic exchange activities between the two countries.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi and Consul General of South Korea in Da Nang Han Jung Il.
Also in attendance were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consuls general from various countries in Da Nang, delegations from South Korean localities, and members of the South Korean community living in the city.
In her opening remarks, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that this year’s event has established itself as one of the city’s key annual external relations events.
It has also been expanded in both scale and content, featuring a wide range of practical cultural, economic, and diplomatic activities.
Mrs. Thi voiced her hope that the festival would continue to serve as a bridge of friendship, deepen mutual understanding, and create new opportunities for cooperation between Da Nang and South Korean localities and partners, thereby further strengthening the close relationship between the two countries.
Da Nang, she added, will continue to create a favorable investment environment, develop an innovation ecosystem, expand international cooperation, and work with South Korean partners to implement cooperation programs that are increasingly substantive, effective, and sustainable.

South Korean Consul General Han Jung Il noted that Da Nang is among the destinations most favored by South Korean travelers for tourism, residence, and work. Currently, South Korean enterprises are implementing 345 investment projects in the city.
Numerous South Korean localities, art troupes, and universities are participating in this year's event, making it the largest edition of the festival to date.
In the coming time, the South Korean Consulate General in Da Nang will continue to promote cultural exchange and festival activities to further enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between South Korea and Vietnam.
According to the organizing committee, the festival runs from August 6 to 9 at the East Sea Park and several other venues across the city, featuring a diverse range of attractive activities.
During the four-day event, more than 90 booths are showcasing the culture, cuisine, tourism, products, and services of both Vietnam and South Korea.
The program also includes exhibitions highlighting cooperation achievements between Da Nang and South Korean partners, traditional art exhibitions, cultural experience spaces, and the Gwangyang Media Art Lab digital art exhibition at the Da Nang Museum of Fine Arts.
A continuous series of artistic exchange performances is taking place throughout the festival, with the participation of Vietnamese and South Korean art troupes.
Highlights include Samulnori drum performances, Sogo dance, bamboo pole dancing, K-pop Random Dance, mass performances of Vietnamese traditional martial arts and Taekwondo, a Vietnam - South Korea cooking competition, and the final round of a K-pop dance talent contest.
