Da Nang prioritizes early launch of International Financial Center to strengthen global financial integration
DNO - Putting the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang into operation soon is a strategic priority for the city as it seeks to strengthen integration with the global financial system.
The statement was made by Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Nguyen Khac Toan during his working session on Wednesday with the Executive Agency of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Da Nang (VIFC-DN).
He stressed the need for the city to introduce sufficiently attractive mechanisms to firmly establish its position within VIFC model and gradually enhance its competitiveness against leading financial centers across the region.
He also laid emphasis on intensifying investment promotion, boosting communications efforts, and developing VIFC-DN brand.
In addition, he urged expanded international cooperation and greater coordination among municipal departments and agencies under the “single focal point, one-stop service” model. The aim is to streamline administrative procedures and foster a transparent, business-friendly investment environment.
According to the VIFC-DN’s Executive Agency, after more than six months of operation, the unit has made steady progress in finalizing institutional frameworks and operational regulations, formulating a development plan for the center through 2035, consolidating its organizational structure, and preparing the necessary conditions for the center's official launch.
Currently, the agency employs 22 officials, civil servants, public employees, experts, and staff members, including three international experts.
To date, VIFC-DN has attracted 12 official members. Eleven investors have been granted letters of interest approval, whilst 12 others are completing their registration procedures.
Also, more than 90 domestic and international investors are exploring investment opportunities at VIFC-DN.
The city has allocated office space at the ICT1 building in the Software Park No. 2 and is preparing to put a 20-storey office building into operation in order to support the center’s activities.
