Vietnam remains among world's top 25 destinations for solo travelers
DNO - Vietnam has been ranked 5th among the world’s 25 best destinations for solo travel thanks to its safety, hospitality, amazing natural landscapes and distinctive cuisine.
The U.S.-based travel magazine Travel + Leisure has once again named Vietnam among the world's 25 best countries for solo travel, citing its high level of safety, friendliness of locals, breathtaking scenery, and unique culinary experiences.
Thailand tops the ranking, followed by Albania, Costa Rica, Germany, and Vietnam in fifth place.
The remaining destinations on this year’s list include Iceland, New Zealand, Mexico, Switzerland, Chile, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Denmark, Japan, Norway, Ireland, Uruguay, Finland, Scotland, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Egypt, and the United Kingdom.
This is not the first time Travel + Leisure has recognized Vietnam as an outstanding destination for independent travelers.
Previously, in 2025, Travel + Leisure also included Vietnam among its list of the world's 25 best countries for solo travel, placing it in the top five destinations.
The ranking was based on criteria including safety, ease of transportation, the friendliness of local people, and the quality of cultural and natural experiences.
Travel + Leisure noted that solo travel has become a growing global trend as an increasing number of people seek “freedom, independence, and self-discovery” through traveling on their own.
Vietnam stands out as one of the world’s most promising solo travel destinations. It offers not only spectacular natural beauty but also a safe environment, friendly and hospitable people, diverse cuisine, and authentic experiences that are difficult to find elsewhere.
In 2024, UK-based magazine Time Out also named Vietnam among the nine best solo travel destinations for women thanks to the country’s diverse travel routes stretching from North to South.
