As reported by the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city’s total import-export turnover reached nearly US$4.8 billion in the first half of the year, an increase of 11.5% compared with the same period in 2025. Exports totaled US$2.4 billion, up 10.3%, while imports rose 12.8% to almost US$2.4 billion.

The city recorded a modest trade surplus of approximately US$21,000, reflecting a healthier trade balance amid persistent global challenges, including logistics costs and growing protectionist pressures in several major markets.

Leading manufacturers reported encouraging business results as overseas demand gradually recovered. THACO Industries, based at the THACO Chu Lai Industrial Park in Nui Thanh Commune, implemented more than 15 mass-production projects for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) conveyor components during the first half of 2026.

Nearly 200 metric tons of products were supplied to industrial equipment manufacturers and partners across Europe, reinforcing the company's manufacturing capabilities in high-value mechanical engineering.

The company produces indoor and outdoor conveyor systems serving industries including timber processing, paper manufacturing and renewable energy.

Advanced robotic welding systems combined with highly skilled certified welders enable production that meets stringent American and European technical standards.

THACO Industries plans to further expand cooperation with European partners while increasing exports of precision mechanical products.

The textile sector also maintained solid growth. The Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation reported consolidated revenue of approximately VND2.893 trillion during the first six months, up 9% year-on-year and equivalent to 52% of its annual target.

Export revenue reached US$148.5 million, representing 55% of its yearly plan and an increase of 14% from a year earlier. The company posted standalone profit of VND224.3 billion, fulfilling 56% of its annual target, while average monthly employee income increased 13% to VND11.9 million.

Existing orders and current production capacity provide a solid foundation for achieving the company's 2026 business objectives.

Hoa Tho plans to strengthen digital transformation, automation, product development and operational efficiency while continuing investment in technology and workforce development.

Meanwhile, the Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC) also reported positive growth. Domestic sales increased 40% year-on-year, while exports reached US$44 million during the first half.

Second-quarter net revenue totaled VND1.175 trillion, with pre-tax profit of VND40 billion, equal to 108% of the previous year's level. Cumulative first-half net revenue reached VND2.33 trillion, while pre-tax profit climbed to VND57 billion, an increase of 37% compared with the same period in 2025.

DRC has set a third-quarter target of VND1.312 trillion in revenue and VND30 billion in pre-tax profit, while continuing to expand overseas markets, develop new products and strengthen research and manufacturing capacity.

According to Tran Van Vu, the Director of the Da Nang Statistics Office, the city's export performance has also benefited from expanded trade promotion activities, stronger business matchmaking, effective utilization of free trade agreements (FTAs) and continued investment in logistics infrastructure.

Authorities are also maintaining stable operations at industrial parks and the high-tech park while advancing preparations for the future Da Nang Free Trade Zone, expected to further enhance the city's competitiveness as an international manufacturing and trading hub.

Looking ahead, Da Nang plans to continue supporting exporters through market diversification, logistics improvements, lower transportation costs and more efficient customs procedures, creating favorable conditions for sustained export growth in the second half of 2026.
