CITA 2026 attracts researchers from over 40 countries
DNO - The 15th Conference on Information Technology and its Applications (CITA) 2026 is bringing together hundreds of researchers, academics and technology experts from more than 40 countries and territories in Vietnam's Quang Ninh Province on July 19-20.
The event is organized by the Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) under the University of Da Nang, together with the ASEAN Community for Innovation and Research (ACIR), the Vietnam Association of Faculties, Schools and Institutes of Information and Communication Technology (FISU Vietnam), international universities, scientific organizations, and Springer Nature.
Marking the 15th anniversary of the CITA series, first launched by VKU in 2012, the conference has evolved into an internationally recognized academic platform connecting universities, research institutions and industry partners while promoting innovation, digital transformation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Huynh Cong Phap, the Rector of VKU and Chair of CITA 2026, said the conference has grown beyond a venue for presenting scientific findings to become a catalyst for building a dynamic research and innovation ecosystem across the region.
This year's conference attracts 442 research papers submitted by authors from more than 40 countries and territories.
Following a rigorous peer-review process, 156 papers have been selected for publication in Springer's Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series, which is indexed by DBLP, Scopus and Web of Science, representing an acceptance rate of 35%.
The conference feature two keynote addresses by international experts focusing on sensor fusion in intelligent environments and big data analytics for multi-cloud data centers.
Discussions throughout the event cover a broad range of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity, ICT infrastructure and the digital economy.
CITA 2026 also include 20 parallel technical sessions and four poster sessions, providing opportunities for researchers to exchange ideas, showcase scientific achievements and strengthen international academic partnerships.
At the closing ceremony, organizers will recognize outstanding papers and presentations before officially launching CITA 2027, with the hosting flag to be handed over to King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok in Thailand.
The transition reflects the conference's expanding international footprint and its ambition to become a leading global forum for information technology research.
Ahead of the main conference, VKU and ACIR organized the 4th ACIR+ Forum in Ha Long on July 18 under the theme “Promoting Collaboration in Scientific Research, Innovation and the Internationalization of CITA”.
This event brought together university leaders and scholars from Poland, Ireland, Germany, France, South Korea, Thailand, China and several other countries.
Participants explored strategies to expand international research partnerships, strengthen academic networks, promote faculty and student exchanges, and establish interdisciplinary research groups in key areas such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, cybersecurity and digital transformation.
The forum also introduces the “CITA-Globalization” initiative for the first time, outlining a long-term strategy to transform CITA into a globally influential scientific conference while fostering new international collaborations to advance research excellence and the internationalization of higher education.
