Global tech firms partner with Da Nang to accelerate AI infrastructure
DNO - Global technology companies are deepening partnerships with Da Nang to expand AI infrastructure, cloud computing and digital innovation, reinforcing its ambition to become a regional hub for artificial intelligence and the digital economy.

That vision took center stage at the Frontier AI & Local Zones Innovation 2026 conference, co-hosted by Renova Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS) on July 17.
Bringing together more than 100 government officials, technology executives and industry experts, the event focused on how public-private collaboration can accelerate AI adoption and strengthen Vietnam's digital ecosystem.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Ho Quang Buu, the Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee, said digital transformation, the digital economy and innovation have become the core drivers of the city's long-term growth strategy.
Rather than competing solely through traditional industries, Da Nang is positioning itself as a knowledge-based economy powered by science, technology and innovation.
Da Nang has built a digital workforce of more than 53,000 technology professionals, while 100% of eligible public services are now delivered online.
Authorities have also set an ambitious target for the digital economy to account for 27% of the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the coming years.

To sustain this momentum, the city is rolling out a dedicated one-stop administrative mechanism for artificial intelligence and semiconductor projects.
The initiative is intended to streamline investment procedures, improve the business environment and attract both domestic and international technology companies to establish research, development and innovation activities in Da Nang.
By bringing together policymakers, multinational companies and local enterprises, the event created opportunities to exchange expertise in cloud computing, AI deployment, data governance and digital infrastructure while fostering new partnerships.
Under the expanded cooperation, AWS and Renova Cloud will continue supporting Da Nang through cloud infrastructure development, technology transfer, digital skills training and pilot AI projects.
The city has also reaffirmed its commitment to helping businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, accelerate digital transformation and integrate AI into their operations.
During the conference, AWS experts highlighted the growing importance of cloud infrastructure in enabling artificial intelligence. They pointed to AWS Local Zones as a solution for applications requiring low latency, real-time data processing and smart manufacturing capabilities.
Eric Yeo, Country General Manager of AWS Vietnam, described Da Nang as one of Vietnam's most vibrant innovation ecosystems.
The city combines a highly skilled technology workforce, forward-looking digital governance and an increasingly dynamic business community, making it well positioned to capitalize on the next wave of AI-driven growth.
The recently launched AWS Local Zone in Ha Noi allows Vietnamese enterprises to deploy AI applications with lower latency while meeting domestic data residency requirements and stringent security standards.
The infrastructure is expected to shorten the time needed to bring AI solutions from development into real-world business operations.
Looking ahead, the evolution of artificial intelligence is expected to extend well beyond automation.
According to Doron Shachar, the CEO of Renova Cloud Vietnam, AI is entering a new phase in which AI agents can independently execute tasks, automate complex workflows and adapt to a wide range of business scenarios.
However, organisations will only realize these benefits if they invest simultaneously in high-quality data, robust digital infrastructure and clear AI strategies.
Through expert discussions and business networking sessions, the conference created new opportunities for collaboration among government agencies, local enterprises and global technology companies in advancing AI infrastructure, cloud computing and data ecosystems.
More importantly, it marked a tangible step toward realizing Da Nang's ambition of becoming Central Vietnam's leading hub for innovation, artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the years ahead.
