This year's event has attracted a record 13,000 participants, including recreational runners, professional athletes, elite competitors, and members of the international marathon community.

The race features four distances (5km, 10km, 21km, and 42km) designed to accommodate runners of all abilities. All courses have been carefully measured and certified to ensure compliance with professional standards while guaranteeing safety and fair competition.

A highlight of this year’s marathon is its scenic course, which passes Da Nang’s iconic Dragon, Tran Thi Ly and Thuan Phuoc bridges, as well as the city’s riverside streets. Blending coastal scenery, the Han River and modern urban landscapes, the route offers runners a memorable experience while showcasing Da Nang’s distinctive charm.

The three-day event runs from July 17 to 19, with the Marathon Expo and race-kit collection taking place at East Sea Park on July 17 and 18.

A 700-meter Kun Marathon for children aged 6–10 will be held at Tien Son Sports Palace on July 18 to promote healthy lifestyles and family participation. The main races across all official distances are scheduled for July 19.

At the opening ceremony, Tao Viet Hai, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said the VnExpress Da Nang International Marathon Herbalife Cup has become one of Vietnam’s leading running events, attracting both domestic and international participants.

He added that the marathon promotes healthy lifestyles while boosting tourism and reinforcing Da Nang’s image as a city of festivals and major sporting events.
