DIFF 2026 grand finale: China delivers spectacular performance
DNO - The DIFF 2026 grand finale on July 11 saw China's Jiangxi Yangfeng deliver a spectacular grand final performance, blending innovative pyrotechnics, music and storytelling to captivate audiences.
The performance combined cutting-edge pyrotechnics, synchronized music and artistic storytelling into one of the festival's standout performances.
The more than 20-minute show unfolded to a soundtrack of 10 well-known songs, blending fireworks, light and music to paint a vibrant portrait of Da Nang as a youthful, dynamic and energetic coastal city.
According to the Chinese team, the entire performance was created exclusively for DIFF 2026, with every sequence newly designed rather than adapted from previous competitions.
"We developed a completely new script for Da Nang," the team said, explaining that extensive research was conducted on every type of firework supplied by the organizers to maximize each effect's colour, shape and rhythm in the night sky.
The result was a constantly evolving display featuring layered bursts, sweeping aerial patterns and precisely timed transitions that kept audiences engaged throughout the performance.
Team leader Liang Weiming said one of the production's defining features was its wide variety of visual effects, carefully choreographed to surprise spectators from beginning to end.
Among the highlights were intricate pyrotechnic formations inspired by bridges, an iconic symbol of Da Nang, alongside vivid multicolored patterns that moved seamlessly with the musical score, creating what many spectators described as an emotionally charged "festival of light".
Alongside technical excellence, the Chinese team sought to convey a broader message celebrating Da Nang as a modern, welcoming city that continues to evolve while embracing international friendship and cultural exchange.
Every firework sequence was meticulously synchronized with the soundtrack, with colors, timing and rhythm working together to tell a continuous visual story that reflected the beauty and vitality of the city.
