DIFF 2026 grand finale: China, Portugal reveal plans for spectacular performances
DNO - The grand finale of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 tonight will bring together two distinguished schools of fireworks artistry.
Team Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd (China) represents the birthplace of fireworks and marks its third appearance in a DIFF final.
Meanwhile, Team Macedos Pirotecnia (Portugal) brings more than a century of European pyrotechnic tradition. Together, they promise a world-class showdown to determine the DIFF 2026 champion.
Chinese team to recreate Da Nang bridge in the sky
Making its third appearance in a DIFF final, the Chinese team said its extensive competition experience is both an advantage and a source of higher expectations from audiences.
Therefore, immediately after securing a place in the final, the team began developing an entirely new performance based on the fireworks system provided by the organizers, thereby maximizing the unique characteristics of each pyrotechnic effect to create striking visual displays.
According to Mr. Liang Weiming, team leader of Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd (China), the highlight of the performance is the multi-layered and continuously transitioning effects system, aimed at creating images with remarkable depth across the night sky.
The purpose, he said, was to offer the audience a “visual feast” unlike anything audiences witnessed during the qualifying rounds.
Our team will surprise spectators with the recreation of an iconic Da Nang bridge in the performance. The bridge symbolizes both the city itself and the connection between cultures, perfectly reflecting the spirit of the festival's grand finale.

Moreover, music has been carefully curated, blending various genres, including Vietnamese songs. The combination is expected to make the performance more meaningful and relatable to the audience in Da Nang, Mr. Liang Weiming added.
Although this is the third time in the DIFF final, the Chinese team always approaches every performance with the utmost seriousness and respect. Each competition night is completely new and reflects China’s unique artistic identity.

A colorful symphony from Portugal
Team Macedos Pirotecnia from Portugal enters the final with the confidence of a unit boasting over a century of experience in the field of fireworks.
According to team leader Fernando Manuel Machado Da Silva Macedo, the team’s performance, titled “United Horizon - The Symphony of Convergence”, will tell a story of heritage, nature and the pride of a vibrant modern society.
Featuring a combination of high-altitude fireworks, comet effects, Roman candles and innovative aerial formations, waves of colorful fireworks will illuminate the sky above the Han River.
The musical soundtrack has been meticulously synchronized with every sequence, creating a vivid symphony of light, sound and color.
Through our performance, we hope to convey a message of a world where cultural differences do not create distance but instead serve as the foundation for peaceful cooperation and shared development.

Facing a competitor from the country widely recognized as the birthplace of fireworks, the Macedos Pirotecnia team said it is honored to compete in the DIFF final.
“Every team has its own identity, and each designer tells a different story through fireworks. These differences are what make the final night so captivating. We will try our best to deliver an outstanding performance and help create a memorable championship night”, Mr. Fernando said.
During her visit to encourage both finalists on July 8, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi congratulated the two teams for outperforming numerous competitors to reach the final.
She hoped that both teams would continue to produce spectacular performances while ensuring the highest safety standards, thereby offering residents and visitors a breathtaking finale that will bring the 2026 festival to a memorable close.
She emphasized that Da Nang highly valued the continued participation of international fireworks teams, whose contributions have helped establish DIFF as one of the world's premier fireworks festivals as well as strengthen Da Nang’s reputation as Vietnam’s city of events and festivals.
