At the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi noted that Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya's attendance at the 2026 Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) would help strengthen cultural exchanges and international cooperation.

According to Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Da Nang currently maintains official friendship and cooperation ties with Thailand's Khon Kaen and Ubon Ratchathani provinces.

As of June 2026, Thailand had 16 investment projects in Da Nang with a combined registered capital of more than USD 112 million, while the city's exports to Thailand totalled nearly USD 129 million in 2025.

In the first six months of 2026, Da Nang welcomed about 204,000 Thai visitors, accounting for 3.9% of international arrivals. The growth has been supported by the East-West Economic Corridor and the direct Bangkok - Da Nang air route.

Nguyen Thi Anh Thi reaffirmed that Da Nang highly values its cooperation with Thailand and expressed hope that the Thai Embassy would continue supporting stronger and more substantive collaboration in economic, trade, and investment activities.

She also called for closer cooperation in supply chain connectivity, logistics, the digital economy, culture, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya said she was impressed by two major events currently taking place in the city, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) and the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF).

Thailand is participating in this year's festival with one film, an initiative that is particularly meaningful as the two countries prepare to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - 2026).

Building on the strong partnership between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as between Da Nang and Thai localities, the ambassador pledged to further promote cooperation in culture and tourism, while expanding collaboration in areas where Da Nang has significant growth potential, including the Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the International Financial Centre, agriculture, and high-tech industries.

She also affirmed her commitment to connecting Thai investors with business opportunities in Da Nang.
