Final preparations underway for DANAFF IV
DNO - With only a few days remaining before the opening of the 4th edition of Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF IV), preparations have basically been completed, ready for the city’s biggest cinematic event of the year.

Infrastructure upgrades near completion
These days, preparations for DANAFF IV have been entering the final stages. At key venues, many items are being accelerated to ensure completion before the opening day. Among the most important tasks is the upgrade of Screening Room No. 2 at the Le Do Cinema.
The Le Do Cinema upgrade project has a total investment of over VND 7.3 billion. It includes the refurbishment of two screening rooms, roof improvements, upgrades to electrical and fire safety systems, and other supporting facilities.
At the same time, the Da Nang Center for Culture and Cinema has proactively developed contingency plans to lease replacement equipment if necessary to guarantee smooth operations during the festival.
Besides the Le Do Cinema, other cinema complexes serving DANAFF IV are also completing their final preparations.
According to the plan, this year's festival will feature screenings at four cinema venues with 8 screening rooms.
Furthermore, the organizing committee plans to host seven outdoor film screenings and establish two exhibition areas showcasing approximately 200 photographs of filming locations in Da Nang.
Organizers have agreed on a ticket distribution plan, with 50% of tickets available online and 50% issued in traditional paper format for the general public.
Beginning June 25, audiences will be able to register for free tickets through DANAFF’s official online portal.
Through the free online ticket distribution, the organizing committee hopes to make it easier for audiences to access Vietnamese, Asian and international films. At the same time, the festival will create opportunities for film appreciation, exchanges and connections between audiences and film crews.

Notably, the organizers have secured sponsorship for 255 room nights, valued at nearly VND 1 billion, along with airline ticket sponsorships worth approximately VND 1.2 billion to support the reception of delegates, artists and guests attending DANAFF IV.

Ensuring professional activities
Alongside logistical and infrastructure preparations, the organizers are also finalizing the festival’s professional programs in line with the planned schedule.
According to Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Film Development Association, talent development initiatives have attracted significant interest from the filmmaking community.
The “Talent Incubator” workshop has received around 400 applications from across the country, while the Asian Art Film Project Market has attracted more than 100 project submissions.
Meanwhile, the Script Lab program for young screenwriters has received nearly 90 applications. Selection processes and content preparations for these programs are currently underway.
To date, numerous film companies from Asia and Europe have confirmed their participation at DANAFF Industry Days, a networking platform connecting film producers, distributors and industry partners.
DANAFF IV has also been promoted at major film industry events in Busan, Tokyo and Hong Kong, as well as through various cultural and tourism promotion programs both in Vietnam and abroad.
DANAFF IV will see the participation of South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook, who is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony on June 28 and the South Korean Cinema Night on June 29.
