Da Nang to pilot Digital Twin model
DNO - On June 22, the Da Nang municipal People's Committee announced the city will pilot the Digital Twin platform in the period of 2026 - 2028, creating a foundation for data-driven urban governance and aiming to build a smart urban area, an innovative city, and an AI City.

Beyond just being a 3D model of the city, the Digital Twin is considered an integrated digital data platform that connects data on urban planning, land management, technical infrastructure, construction, transport, environment, and other specialized fields on one united platform.
Thereby, the management agencies can visualize the current state of the city, monitor operations, analyze, simulate, and forecast development scenarios of the city to support data-driven decision-making.
Accordingly, Da Nang will pilot the project during the 2026 - 2028 period, initially focusing on urban planning management in prior areas.
The Digital Twin platform will be established in order to standardize and integrate multi-source data, and develop 2D and 3D visualization models, while applying artificial intelligence (AI), geographic information systems (GIS), the Internet of Things (IoT), and data analytics tools.
At the same time, Da Nang will set up mechanisms of governance, operation, and data utilization with a focus on safety and efficiency.
For the Management Board of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Park (DSEZA), the project plays an important role in overseeing key strategic zones such as the high-tech park, industrial parks, IT hubs, and the Da Nang Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
This initiative also serves as a platform for Da Nang to build a next-generation FTZ model that is smart, green, and digitally integrated. In addition, it will enable investors to access information more quickly and transparently while strengthening the management of development spaces, technical infrastructure, logistics, and environmental quality.
Currently, DSEZA has deployed multiple digital platforms such as BIM, GIS, and specialized data systems for control planning, infrastructure, and investment at the high-tech park, industrial parks, concentrated IT parks, and the Da Nang FTZ.
