Da Nang and Indonesia boost innovation ecosystem connectivity
DNO - Da Nang is seeking to deepen cooperation with Indonesia in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, as both sides explore opportunities to strengthen startup ecosystems and expand regional partnerships within ASEAN.

On June 22, the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center under the Department of Science and Technology welcomed a delegation from the Embassy of Indonesia in Vietnam, led by Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio, during his working visit to the central coastal city.
Ambassador Tugio expressed his admiration for Da Nang’s dynamic development and praised the successful organisation of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, which has helped promote the city’s image globally while attracting tourism and investment.
He also highlighted Da Nang’s achievements in digital transformation, innovation and startup ecosystem development, describing them as a strong foundation for expanding cooperation between Vietnam and Indonesia in the digital economy.
In particular, the ambassador commended Da Nang’s startup support model, noting the close collaboration among government agencies, businesses and universities in promoting research, commercialising scientific outcomes and nurturing innovative enterprises.
Representatives of the Indonesian Embassy in Vietnam proposed maintaining regular exchanges with the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center, aiming to serve as a bridge connecting institutions, universities, enterprises and startup communities of the two countries.
Such cooperation would contribute to strengthening bilateral ties in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation.

Vo Duc Anh, the Deputy Director of the Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center introduced Da Nang’s support policies for startups, including incubation programmes, expert networking, financial assistance, expansion of domestic and international partnerships and regulatory sandbox mechanisms designed to facilitate innovation-driven enterprises.
During the meeting, the both sides discussed potential cooperation areas such as connecting startup ecosystems, promoting collaboration between universities, organising expert exchange programmes, and sharing experiences in artificial intelligence, semiconductors, digital transformation and innovation.
The Indonesian delegation also expressed its interest in linking Indonesian startups with Da Nang’s innovation ecosystem and promoting cooperation initiatives within the ASEAN framework.
Both sides explored the possibility of jointly organising international forums and innovation events, creating opportunities for startup communities from the two countries to exchange ideas, attract investment and expand into new markets.
The Da Nang Innovation and Startup Support Center extended an invitation to the Indonesian Embassy in Da Nan to participate in upcoming international innovation events hosted by the city, reaffirming Da Nang’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional innovation hub and a gateway for international cooperation.
