Secretary Quang expressed his pleasure at welcoming the delegation and highly praised Mr. Bodo Ramelow for his active contributions to promoting friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and the German state of Thuringia during his tenure as Minister-President of the state.

The city leader also congratulated Mr. Bodo Ramelow on his new position as Vice President of the Bundestag. He stated that Mr. Bodo Ramelow's visit to Vietnam, coinciding with the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - Germany Strategic Partnership, would further strengthen comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Briefing the visiting delegation on the city’s development, Secretary Quang stated that Da Nang has been authorized by the central government to implement many special mechanisms and policies aimed at creating new growth momentum.

In addition, the city continues to invest in strategic infrastructure, including seaports, airports, transportation networks, and a logistics ecosystem, in order to enhance competitiveness and attract international investors.

According to the city Party chief, Da Nang currently maintains cooperative relations with the state of Thuringia and the city of Chemnitz in Germany in various fields such as science and technology, education and training, and cultural exchanges.

Mr. Quang voiced his hope that Da Nang would continue receiving support from Mr. Bodo Ramelow in connecting and encouraging German enterprises to explore investment opportunities and expand business and production cooperation in the city.

In particular, Da Nang highly appreciated the efforts of the Vice President of the Bundestag in promoting cooperation programs in health, education, and vocational training.

The city expected that more practical and effective cooperation projects between Da Nang and German localities, businesses, and organizations would be implemented in the coming years.

For his part, Mr. Bodo Ramelow expressed his pleasure at returning to Da Nang and highly appreciated the cooperation achievements between the city and the state of Thuringia over the past years.

Although he no longer holds the leadership role in the state of Thuringia, he remains committed to promoting cooperative activities between the German state and Da Nang.

The Vice President of the Bundestag highlighted the significant role of Da Nang in vocational training cooperation between Viet Nam and Germany. Many collaborative programmes between enterprises in Thuringia and training institutions in Da Nang have yielded positive results.

This model needed to be further expanded to other fields, especially nursing training, elderly care, and healthcare personnel, he suggested.

On that basis, Germany hoped to strengthen cooperation among medical training institutions in Da Nang to develop new vocational training programmes, allowing students to access international training standards and gain opportunities to study and work in Germany.

Mr. Bodo Ramelow affirmed that he would continue contributing to strengthening cooperative relations between Viet Nam and Germany in general, and between Da Nang and German localities in particular in the years ahead.
