Da Nang records positive tourism signals from Russia and CIS
DNO - In May 2026, the Tourism Promotion Center under the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Yandex Ads, a service operated by the Yandex International Technology Company, launched a survey campaign to assess and enhance the city's recognition among travelers from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The purpose of the campaign created opportunities for the coastal city to transform positive market signals into targeted tourism promotion strategies.
Specifically, Danang FantastiCity recorded strong performance with more than 1.1 million interactions and 424,000 page views in May alone.
Notably, more than half of the platform’s traffic came from Russia and CIS countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Simultaneously, Russia has also emerged as the leading market in terms of active users, accounting for 52% of the platform’s total user base.
In the first five months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed 862,110 visitors from Russia and CIS countries, including 617,851 Russian travelers, representing a 194% increase compared with the same period last year.
Of that total, Da Nang received more than 180,000 visitors from Russia and the CIS, accounting for 4% of the city’s international arrivals.
In addition to maintaining charter flights from Russia and CIS countries between April and October 2026, Da Nang welcomed its first direct charter flight from Moscow on April 23.

Ms. Thu Nguyen, Business Development Director at the Yandex Ads Vietnam, stated that, according to survey data, hotels account for the most significant proportion of searches related to travel in Vietnam among Russian-speaking users.
This provides valuable insights that can help Da Nang shape more effective tourism promotion and marketing strategies.
Leaders of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism noted that the positive growth trend presented significant opportunities for Da Nang to fully tap the Russian and CIS markets through tourism promotion activities, destination marketing campaigns, and expanded international air connectivity.
This is a group of markets identified as highly promising sources of visitors with strong growth prospects in the future, contributing to realizing Da Nang's goal of serving approximately 19.5 million visitors, including 8.7 million international tourists.
