Da Nang seeks stronger innovation ties with Russia
DNO - Within the framework of the Da Nang Venture and Angel Summit (DAVAS) 2026, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu on Tuesday met with Guley Sergey Nikolaevich, the President of the Russian Innovation and Social Development Foundation to discuss expanding cooperation in innovation and investment.

During the meeting, Guley Sergey Nikolaevich expressed his gratitude for the invitation from the Vietnamese Government, Da Nang authorities and the organizers of the DAVAS 2026. He also highly appreciated the warm hospitality extended to the Innovation and Social Development Foundation and Russian investors as a whole.
Nikolaevich noted that DAVAS is opening new opportunities for Da Nang, and Vietnam at large, to gradually become emerging hubs connecting innovation capital flows, international finance and multilateral economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
Highlighting Da Nang’s strengths in services, particularly tourism, Guley Sergey Nikolaevich expressed his desire to expand cooperation in this sector alongside ongoing startup and innovation activities.
Representatives of the Russian foundation also discussed future cooperation orientations in biotechnology, ginseng and medicinal herbs.

Welcoming the proposal to expand tourism cooperation, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu affirmed that tourism and high-quality services have long been key economic sectors of Da Nang, thanks to its modern infrastructure, natural advantages and well-established position on the international map.
Da Nang leaders also cordially invited the Russian delegation to attend the Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Festival 2026, scheduled to take place from August 1 to 3.
Featuring a wide range of special activities, the event is expected to reinforce Da Nang’s role as a destination where medicinal heritage and culture converge.
Through the foundation’s bridging role, the Da Nang leaders expressed hope that both sides would further promote cooperation programs in biotechnology and quantum technology, while applying innovative solutions to enhance experiences for Russian, and international visitors in general, during their stay in Da Nang.
