Da Nang and China teams set the tone for DIFF 2026

For the host city, the opening performance carries particular significance. Da Nang-Vietnam team enters the competition with the advantage of local support and a strong understanding of the festival atmosphere, but also with heightened expectations as it competes against one of the world’s leading fireworks companies.

China’s Jiangxi Yangfeng Art Display Co., Ltd returns to Da Nang after winning the previous season. Known for sophisticated choreography and refined visual effects, the team will present a performance titled “Flower of the Orient”, inspired by the classic Chinese folk song “Jasmine Flower”.

Organizers say the display will emphasize flowing light patterns and delicate transitions intended to resemble brushstrokes across the night sky.

With years of experience and the advantage of performing on the Han River stage, the Da Nang-Vietnam team captivates audiences with emotionally rich performances imbued with Vietnamese identity.

More than a fireworks competition, the opening night of DIFF 2026 promises to be a spectacular fusion of music, performance art and cutting-edge visual technology on the banks of the Han River.

Designed as a concert-scale production, the event will feature leading Vietnamese artists, nearly 70 professional dancers and more than 30 international performers from Sun World Ba Na Hills. Every performance segment has been carefully choreographed to blend seamlessly with the fireworks displays, creating an immersive multi-sensory experience.

The artistic program aims to celebrate both the beauty of Vietnam and the vibrant transformation of Da Nang as a youthful, dynamic festival city.

Cutting-edge stage technology

Beyond the competition itself, DIFF 2026 is also introducing major technological upgrades to its main performance venue.

The newly expanded stage stretches nearly 100 meters wide and features an advanced mechanical system that organizers describe as unprecedented in the festival’s history.

A massive movable dome structure more than 40 meters wide and over 10 meters high has been installed at the center of the stage, accompanied by five independently controlled mechanical arch systems capable of creating rapid scene transitions in real time.

The venue also integrates high-powered laser systems, programmable lifting technology and large-scale 3D LED matrix displays, transforming the stage into what organizers call a “living structure” capable of evolving visually throughout each performance.

With its combination of elite international competition and increasingly immersive production design, the opening night of DIFF 2026 is expected to reinforce Da Nang’s position as one of Asia’s leading destinations for large-scale cultural and entertainment events.

DIFF 2026 is expected to set the tone for what organizers describe as an “All-Star” edition of the festival, bringing together internationally recognized fireworks teams alongside a new generation of performance technology designed to elevate the audience experience beyond traditional pyrotechnics.
