Vietnam launches unified digital platform for foreign residence declarations
DNO - Vietnam has launched a unified software platform allowing accommodation providers to submit temporary residence declarations for foreigners and lodging notifications for Vietnamese citizens through a single integrated system.

This marks a major step in the country’s digital transformation of population and immigration management.
Developed by the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security, the platform is designed to modernise and synchronise residence management while improving oversight of foreigners staying in Vietnam.
Under the new system, hotels, guesthouses, homestays and other accommodation providers will no longer need to use separate platforms for reporting foreign guests and domestic lodgers.
Instead, all information can now be submitted through one online portal, available in both Vietnamese and English at https://tbltkbtt.bocongan.gov.vn/
The platform will automatically classify and transfer data to relevant agencies according to their assigned functions and responsibilities.
The software is scheduled to operate fully and smoothly across the country before July 1, 2026.
Currently, Vietnamese citizens can submit temporary residence declarations online through the VNeID app, the National Public Service Portal, the Ministry of Public Security’s public service portal, or directly at commune and ward police offices.
Foreigners staying in Vietnam are required to declare temporary residence either at local commune or ward police offices or via the ministry’s online temporary residence declaration website for foreigners.
The new unified platform is expected to simplify these procedures for accommodation providers while reducing administrative fragmentation.
According to official figures, Vietnam welcomed more than 22.8 million foreign arrivals in 2025, the highest number ever recorded and an increase of around 18 per cent compared with 2024.
In 2026, the country has already received more than 9 million foreign visitors so far, representing a year-on-year increase of 22.5%.
The launch comes as Vietnam continues to record strong growth in international arrivals, driven by increasingly open immigration policies and expanded tourism promotion, trade, investment and international exchange activities.
The new platform is expected to support Vietnam’s broader efforts to improve digital governance while creating a more convenient and efficient environment for both residents and international visitors.
