Over 4,700 athletes to compete in IRONMAN 2026 in Da Nang
DNO - The VNG IRONMAN Vietnam 2026 and VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2026 will officially take place in Da Nang on May 10.

The two tournaments are organized by Sunrise Events Vietnam, the developer of the IRONMAN ecosystem in Vietnam over the past decade, in collaboration with the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The sports events attract over 4,700 athletes, including 1,800 international competitors, an increase of over 80% compared to the inauguration season. This significantly contributes to reinforcing Da Nang's position as one of Asia’s leading sports tourism destinations.
The VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang features a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike ride, and a 21.1km run.
Meanwhile, the full-distance IRONMAN race includes a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride, and a 42.2km run. It is considered one of the world’s most physically demanding one-day sporting events.
With routes designed to international standards, both races take participants along Da Nang’s iconic coastal routes, offering them the opportunity to experience local natural beauty and urban landscapes.
This year, the organizers are introducing the SEV Concierge platform, an intelligent digital assistant that helps athletes search for race information as well as recommend local attractions and services.
Through this integration, athletes' experience is elevated beyond race day, contributing to spreading Da Nang's signature hospitality to both domestic and international visitors.
According to Sunrise Events Vietnam, the VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang has generated an estimated economic value of US$65 million (approximately VND 1,700 billion) over nine seasons.
In 2025 alone, the event week contributed over US$9 million (equivalent to VND 245 billion), demonstrating the strong appeal of sports tourism in Da Nang.
The sustainable growth of the VNG IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang over the past nine seasons reflects the strong development of endurance sports in Vietnam thanks to the expansion of the athlete community, strong social engagement, and increasingly professional organizational standards.
Notably, 2026 marks an important milestone in the continuous development of the country's endurance sports ecosystem.
