Highly anticipated competitions

One of the most awaited activities is the Open Water Swimming Championship "Across The Summer Waves" Da Nang 2026 which will take place on April 27 at the beach in front of the East Sea Park.

The competition will include three freestyle distances: 1,000m, 2,500m and 5,000m, all divided by age groups and gender.

According to organizers, the race not only contributes to promoting the movement of physical fitness and improving water safety skills but also affirms Da Nang’s image as a dynamic, experience-rich coastal destination.

Alongside the swimming race, the 2026 Da Nang International Beach Rescue Competition, set for April 29 - 30 at the same venue, is drawing strong interest from athletes.

The event will offer a good opportunity for professional rescue teams from across Vietnam and various countries to exchange expertise, promising intense and inspiring contests.

Competition categories will include mixed relay swimming, rescue board throwing, victim relay rescue, sprint races, team wave crossing, rescue board relay and beach flag capturing races.

Specialized lifesaving skills will be tested through CPR, tube rescue and board rescue events. Local events such as basket boat racing will also be featured, along with other contests.

Each discipline combines physical endurance, technical skill and mental resilience, reflecting readiness to respond to emergencies at sea.

The competition aims to honor the often-unsung efforts of rescue personnel while enhancing real-world response capabilities and practical skills in marine environments through realistic rescue simulations.

Spectacular sports performances

A series of lively activities as part of the “Ocean Dance” beach sports performance program will be organized on April 25 at the beach in front of the East Sea Park. Included will be flyboarding, jet skiing, parasailing, banana boat rides and sailing.

Notably, two international athletes Jessica and Tommy will deliver high-energy performances, blending modern techniques with artistic expression through dynamic aerial maneuvers above the water.

Their acts convey a powerful message: from the ocean, humanity begins its journey and confidently reaches toward new horizons.

According to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Tao Viet Hai, the organization of beach sports activities aims to showcase the beauty of Da Nang's beaches to both domestic and international visitors. These events contribute to not only popularizing beach sports but also boosting the local tourism development.
