US tourist amazed by nearly US$2 eye check-up in Da Nang
DNO - In recent days, a video capturing a foreign visitor’s medical experience at the Da Nang Eye Hospital has drawn significant public attention.

According to the video, Susan Lindgren, a 58-year-old American tourist, sought medical exam during her stay in Da Nang after noticing black spots in her eyes.
Despite arriving outside regular office hours, she still received an initial check-up and was advised to return the following day for a more comprehensive examination.
During her follow-up visit, due to a large number of patients, she was recommended to come back in the early afternoon to minimize waiting time.
The examination process was carried out efficiently, covering all necessary procedures such as pupil dilation, fundus examination, and ultrasound, with a total cost of just VND 45,000.
The diagnosis showed that her condition was not serious. Doctors determined that the symptoms were a common age-related change following her previous LASIK surgery, posing no major concern and expected to improve over time.
After completing the examination, she was not required to pay any additional fees beyond the initial charge. The tourist praised the convenience of the medical process, reasonable waiting times, and the professionalism and attentiveness of the medical staff at the hospital.
As shared in the video, the low cost combined with a streamlined process left a strong positive impression of healthcare services in Vietnam.
