As recently reported by Vietnamese media, including VnExpress, in late June 2024, Vietnamese traveler Ngoc Anh was on a family vacation in Da Nang when an unexpected unfolded.
Hearing a loud crash outside her home, she rushed out to find two South Korean tourists injured in a motorbike accident.
One of them, Sun-jae, suffered minor injuries, while his friend had a broken arm. Due to language barriers and hesitation from bystanders, the two men did not receive immediate help.
Without hesitation, Anh stepped in. She cleaned their wounds, called for transportation and helped take them to the hospital.
Her family even allowed the tourists to temporarily store their motorbike at their home, creating a reason to stay in touch.
That same evening, Sun-jae reached out to thank Anh and explain that his friend had to return to South Korea for urgent surgery.
Over the next few days, Anh’s family continued to support him, inviting him for meals and even taking him to enjoy the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
Before leaving Vietnam, Sun-jae promised to return the kindness if Anh ever visited Seoul.
A reunion that touched millions
In March 2026, while planning a trip to Seoul, Anh recalled the old promise but hesitated. Friends told her it might have been just a polite gesture.
After two days of uncertainty, she finally sent a message. Sun-jae replied almost instantly.
He not only remembered, he insisted on meeting and personally arranging her visit.
When they reunited in Seoul, Sun-jae took on the role of host and guide. He treated Anh to meals, showed her around the trendy Seongsu District.
All expenses were covered by him, a gesture of gratitude for the help he received two years earlier.
