Da Nang expands multi-sector cooperation with South Korea’s Daegu
DNO - The People’s Committee of Da Nang has issued an official dispatch to implement the contents of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the governments of Da Nang and Daegu, South Korea.

Under the MoU, Da Nang and Daegu will promote cooperation in various aspects.
Specifically, in information and communications technology (ICT) and smart city development, both sides will organize specialized seminars and exhibitions, with a focus on advancing plans to establish the Da Nang - Daegu ICT Business Cooperation Promotion Center, as well as implementing exchange and internship programs for technology students.
In addition to strengthening cultural and festival linkages, the two cities will prioritize the development of medical tourism. Da Nang aims to leverage the infrastructure and expertise of MediCity Daegu to design health check-up packages, rehabilitation services, and advanced medical technology experiences.
In the field of trade and investment, the two sides will establish business connectivity networks through forums, trade fairs, exhibitions, and direct business matchmaking activities.
Da Nang and Daegu also agreed to jointly mobilize official development assistance (ODA) projects from the governments of both countries. These projects will concentrate on addressing current urban challenges, including water resource management, disaster response and climate change adaptation, as well as joint research on public policy and urban development.
According to the dispatch, the city authorities have instructed relevant departments and agencies to proactively advance existing cooperation programs.
The municipal Department of Foreign Affairs serves as the focal point, taking the lead in advising on and maintaining regular information exchange with Daegu, while guiding and urging units to organize external relations activities and delegation exchanges.
The local Department of Science and Technology, the municipal Police Department, the University of Da Nang, the Da Nang College, and the Union of Literature and Arts Associations are tasked with continuing the implementation of signed projects, while actively seeking new cooperation opportunities.
