Vietnam - Laos Trade Fair boosts cooperation
DNO - The International Trade, Investment and Tourism Fair 2026 officially opened on April 3 at the central stadium of Pakse (Laos).

The event draws the participation from Vietnamese and Lao businesses and officials, with a focus on strengthening cross-border cooperation.
A delegation from Da Nang attended the opening ceremony, led by Party Central Committee member cum Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Le Ngoc Quang.
The delegation also included Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang Le Tri Thanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Council Tran Phuoc Son and Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Phan Thai Binh.
On the Lao side, attendees included Secretary of the Champasak Provincial Party Committee Alunxay Sounnalath, along with Vietnamese Consul General in Pakse Ta Phuong Dung.
Running from April 3 to 5, the fair is jointly organized by the Consulate General of Vietnam in Pakse and the authorities of Champasak Province.
It features around 60 to 70 booths representing enterprises from both countries.

Exhibits showcase a wide range of products, including Vietnam’s One Commune - One Product (OCOP) goods and Laos’ One District One Product (ODOP) specialties.
Others include nationally branded products, garments and fashion items, electrical and electronic appliances, agricultural machinery and equipment, wood products, handicrafts, consumer goods, and various services.
The event is designed to enhance trade connectivity, promote investment opportunities and support tourism promotion between Vietnam and Laos.
It also serves as a platform for localities, particularly Da Nang, to deepen ties with southern Lao provinces across multiple sectors.
Following the opening ceremony, Secretary Le Ngoc Quang and the Da Nang delegation toured exhibition booths, engaging with businesses and exploring potential partnerships. Discussions with Lao counterparts focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investmen and tourism.
The fair is expected to provide an effective channel for enterprises from both countries to expand markets, boost product consumption, and further strengthen the special solidarity and longstanding friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
