Vietnam’s Gooride app aims to boost cycling culture and green mobility
DNO - In an era where sustainable mobility is becoming a global priority, Gooride - a smart cycling platform founded by Da Nang-based entrepreneur Tran Nam Long - is emerging as a notable example of how technology can transform personal passion into a scalable, community-driven solution.

At its core, Gooride operates as a two-sided digital ecosystem that connects cyclists with services, information and one another. For users, the platform offers a suite of integrated features designed to simplify and enrich the cycling experience.
Through its mobile applications and website, cyclists can plan routes using AI-assisted tools, track distance and performance, access technical content, and locate essential services such as bike rentals and repair shops.
The system also encourages social interaction by enabling users to find riding companions and participate in community events.
What differentiates Gooride from conventional fitness or navigation apps is its data-centric approach. Every cycling journey contributes to a growing pool of what the platform calls “green data”, real-world insights into user behavior, travel patterns and route preferences.
Not only is the data valuable for improving user experience but it also serves as a strategic resource for local authorities and partners. By analysing aggregated cycling data, Gooride supports urban planners in designing bicycle lanes and contributes to the development of more sustainable tourism models.
The platform’s evolution reflects a steady and purpose-driven growth trajectory. Its origins can be traced back to the Vietnam Cycling Atlas, a project initiated by Long to document and share cycling routes across Vietnam, contributing to spreading the passion for cycling to friends both domestically and internationally.
Building on this foundation, Gooride was officially launched in 2022 with the integration of AI, marking a transition from a static repository of routes to a dynamic, interactive platform.
Over nearly five years of development, Gooride has expanded its presence across multiple digital channels, including iOS and Android applications.

The platform has attracted close to 14,000 users and records approximately 4,000 monthly visits.
Also, this project has gained recognition within Vietnam’s innovation ecosystem, ranking among the top five startups at the TECHFEST Vietnam 2023 competition.
Beyond its digital footprint, Gooride actively fosters community engagement through offline events.
Cycling initiatives such as Udax, Yok Don Bike Challenge and Da Lat Bike Challenge have brought together participants from across the country, reinforcing the platform’s role as both a technological and social connector.
Looking ahead, Gooride is investing further in the development of an AI-powered chatbot capable of assisting users in route planning and information retrieval in a bid to expand its data infrastructure and strengthen partnerships with local governments and businesses, creating a more integrated cycling network.
By 2030, Gooride targets a user base of 150,000 and aspires to become a strategic partner in shaping smart, green urban mobility in Vietnam.
