Da Nang receives nearly VND 70 billion in aid from six foreign NGOs

DNO - On Friday morning, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations signed a second batch of memoranda of understanding with six foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs), with a total committed funding value of nearly VND 70 billion.

The support is expected to contribute to the city’s sustainable development goals as well as ensure local social welfare.

Specifically, the Habitat for Humanity International (the USA) pledged nearly VND 31 billion, focusing on clean water and sanitation, housing support, international workshops, and project development and resource mobilization.

The Korea Food for the Hungry International in South Korea committed nearly VND 14.6 billion to initiatives in education, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, clean water system improvements, school construction and equipment, and emergency relief.

The Social Assistance Program for Vietnam (the USA) supported over VND 12.5 billion for orthopedic and rehabilitation surgeries for children with mobility disabilities from disadvantaged backgrounds, cataract surgeries for the elderly, scholarships for ethnic minority students, and water filtration systems.

The Share Sarangbat (South Korea) provided VND 2.6 billion in funding for emergency aid for communities affected by natural disasters and epidemics, educational support, and environmental awareness.

The Activity International (the Netherlands) pledged VND 4.5 billion for sending international volunteers to participate in social work supporting vulnerable groups, and organizing English exchange activities for students and the local community.

The Catalyste+ (Canada) supported nearly VND 2.5 billion in providing experts and senior advisors to enhance the capacity of small and medium-sized enterprises, while promoting local socio-economic initiatives.

Previously, in the first round of MoU signings held in October 2025, the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations partnered with three foreign NGOs, with a total committed funding value of VND 62.5 billion.
