It is an international pageant that blends aesthetics with cultural preservation and community engagement.

For the first time, the event will be held in the central cities of Da Nang and Hue, two destinations renowned for their rich heritage and tourism appeal.

More than 40 contestants from across the world are expected to participate, each representing the cultural identity of their country while engaging in a shared platform dedicated to heritage appreciation.

According to organizers, the competition will run from August 7 to 13, featuring a series of cultural and tourism activities designed to immerse contestants in Vietnam’s historical and contemporary landscape.

The itinerary includes visits to iconic landmarks such as the Rong (Dragon) Bridge and the Sun World Ba Na Hills in Da Nang, as well as heritage sites recognized by UNESCO, including the Imperial City of Hue, Hoi An Ancient Town and the My Son Sanctuary.

Organizers say the goal is to create a meaningful dialogue between cultures, positioning heritage as a unifying global value rather than a static legacy.

A notable highlight of this year’s edition is the Miss Heritage Global Relay Run 2026, a community-based sporting event designed to connect international contestants with local communities.

The 15-kilometre relay format will see each team composed of one international contestant and local participants, creating a unique blend of global and community spirit.

The journey will culminate in the grand finale on August 12 in Da Nang, where contestants will compete across multiple segments, including the Vietnamese ao dai, national costume, sportswear and evening gown. The top five finalists will then advance to the question-and-answer round, where the winner of the crown will be decided.

Beyond its symbolic value, the relay run aims to promote public health, encourage active lifestyles and raise awareness about the importance of preserving cultural heritage.

By integrating sport with social messaging, the event reflects a broader shift in international pageantry toward purpose-driven activities that extend beyond the stage.

Organizers emphasize that Miss Heritage Global 2026 is not simply a beauty contest, but a platform that bridges nations through shared cultural values.

By hosting the event, Vietnam seeks to reinforce its image as a dynamic, hospitable and culturally rich destination in the eyes of the international community.

With its combination of cultural immersion, community engagement and global participation, the pageant is expected to function as an “international festival” in its own right-one that highlights Vietnam’s heritage while fostering cross-cultural connections in an increasingly interconnected world.

The Miss Heritage Global pageant was first held in 2013. The most recent season took place in South Africa in 2022.

In 2026, the competition enters its seventh edition, marking a significant milestone as Vietnam hosts the event for the first time.

It also represents the pageant’s debut in Asia, underscoring the region’s growing role in promoting cultural heritage through global platforms.
