Nguyen Anh Duong presents “Green Project” in West Africa

DNO - Nguyen Anh Duong, a ninth-grade student at Huynh Thi Luu Secondary School in Hoi An Dong Ward (Da Nang City), represented Vietnam at the Global Learning Forum 2026 (GLF 2026) in Ghana, where she presented her school-led “Green Project” from Da Nang.

The project, led by Live & Learn in collaboration with over 30 schools in Da Nang, is part of the globally funded Healthy Cities for Adolescents (HCA) programme supported by the Botnar Foundation.

Duong excels academically and shows strong teamwork and leadership. When introduced to the project, she chose the theme “Tourism - Historical Sites - Green, Clean Environment”, citing its close relevance to daily life in her hometown.

She also inspired classmates to join, with guidance from Live & Learn helping boost engagement.

Her group’s enthusiasm drew more students, prompting Duong to establish a club to foster creativity, critical thinking, and research skills. She also launched a Facebook page and organised training sessions for new members.

To strengthen “green citizen” initiatives, the project organises exchanges among clubs from over 20 schools in Da Nang, with standout models sharing experiences in Hanoi and Thailand. Most recently, Duong represented Vietnam at GLF 2026 in Ghana, exchanging ideas with peers from six countries.

Duong said each exchange offered valuable lessons through participants’ openness. She added that her group learned from students in flood-prone areas, interviewed elderly residents, and shared these insights with the community.

Balancing study and club activities, Duong continues to pursue her vision of greener, cleaner communities across Vietnam, free from air pollution and plastic waste.
