Vibrant cultural exchange activities

In late 2025, during an artistic exchange program marking the 75th founding anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Russia, the Russian folk art troupe “MATRYONA ART” performed a series of captivating acts ranging from traditional folk melodies and dances to energetic, modern performances full of youthful spirit. The show left a deep impression on audiences in Da Nang, especially those who had previously studied or worked in Russia.

At the Vietnam - Japan Festival and the Vietnam - South Korea Festival held in Da Nang in 2025, both Japan and South Korea introduced a wide range of traditional and contemporary arts to local audiences.

The city has also made greater efforts to promote local culture through the organization of international and regional cultural, artistic, and festival events.

A prime example is the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), which has attracted extensive attention from international media and tourists.

Da Nang has also successfully organized events such as the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) and co-hosted the ASEAN Music Festival in Hoi An, creating opportunities to introduce Vietnamese culture and arts to the international community and vice versa.

In addition, a series of cultural and festival activities held along the Han River over the years have contributed to introducing unique cultural values to the foreign community living and working in Da Nang as well as to domestic and international visitors.

These international cultural exchange activities have created diverse and vibrant spaces for audiences to enjoy global artistic performances, thereby enriching the spiritual life of Da Nang residents and strengthening mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and international friends.

Promoting formation of cultural spaces

Consul General of Russia in Da Nang Mizonova Mariia emphasized that cultural exchange is a spiritual bridge throughout the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Based on this, the Consulate General of Russia in Da Nang plans to create an art performance space in front of its main hall to widely promote the beauty of Russian culture to the people of Da Nang.

Similarly, Ambassador of Argentina to Vietnam Marcos Antonio Bednarski noted that tango has become an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, and Argentina is the birthplace of this captivating art form.

He expressed his delight that tango is well-loved by Vietnamese audiences in general and by the people of Da Nang in particular. He voiced his hope that in the future, a tango performance program will be held in Da Nang, a destination currently known for hosting international-scale festivals and events.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Director of the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs, under the cultural diplomacy strategy for the 2026 - 2030 period, the city will continue to maintain and elevate the quality and international scale of signature events such as DIFF and DANAFF, considering them among its leading cultural diplomacy assets, he added.
