Da Nang, Japan deepen business and investment cooperation at 2026 networking event
DNO - The Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang and the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs jointly organized the "Meet Japanese Businesses - Spring 2026" program on Friday.

In his remarks at the event, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Pham Duc An affirmed that, within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, Da Nang has established and continuously strengthened cooperative relations with numerous Japanese localities, organizations, and businesses.
To date, Da Nang has officially set up cooperation relations with six Japanese localities, namely Nagasaki Prefecture and the cities of Sakai, Yokohama, Kawasaki, Kisarazu, and Kinokawa.
Cooperation between the two sides has continued to expand and deepen across various fields such as economic development, science and technology, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges, yielding many practical results.
In terms of investment, Japan is currently among the top three countries in foreign direct investment (FDI) in Da Nang, with 301 projects totaling over US$ 1.22 billion.

Chairman Pham Duc An noted that Da Nang aimed to become one of major socio-economic centers in the country and Southeast Asia as a whole by 2030. By 2045, the city eyes developing into a large, ecological, and smart urban center and a hub for startups and innovation and a high-quality coastal city recognized across Asia for its livability.
In the coming time, Da Nang will prioritize attracting investment from Japanese enterprises in key sectors such as the International Financial Center and Free Trade Zone, high-tech industries (including microchips, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things), logistics, high-tech agriculture, education, healthcare, high-quality tourism, and the creative economy.
The city also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing to accompany, support, and create the most favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to develop sustainably, expand operations, and enhance business efficiency in Da Nang.
At the same time, the city pledged to stand ready to listen, engage in dialogue, and promptly address any difficulties or obstacles faced by businesses during their investment and business activities in the locality.

On behalf of the city’s leaders and residents, Chairman Pham Duc An extended his best wishes to the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang and the entire Japanese business community on the occasion of the 2026 New Year.
He also voiced his hope that the friendship and cooperation between Da Nang and Japan will continue to flourish in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
Speaking at the event, Japanese Consul General in Da Nang Mori Takero expressed his honor in co-organizing the “Meet Japan” program with Da Nang.

He stated that the event provided an opportunity for relevant agencies of Da Nang and Japanese enterprises to meet, connect, and enhance mutual understanding. It is expected to significantly contribute to expanding the operations of Japanese companies in Da Nang, as well as attracting new investors.
He affirmed that the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang will continue acting as a bridge to promote economic relations between Da Nang and Japanese localities, and between Japanese businesses and the Da Nang authorities. This will contribute to the city’s development and further strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Japan in general, as well as between Da Nang and Japanese localities in particular.
