Indian tourist gets back nearly VND 150 million in lost property at Da Nang airport
DNO - The Border Gate Police at Da Nang International Airport announced on Wednesday that they have coordinated with functional forces to return property worth nearly VND 150 million to a foreign passenger who had left it behind at the airport.
Earlier, on March 5, during their patrol in the domestic passenger terminal T1 at Da Nang International Airport, officers from the Domestic Security Control Team discovered a white backpack that had been left unattended.
A preliminary check revealed several valuable items inside the backpack, including US$ 5,000, nearly 40,000 rubles, a mobile phone, and various personal documents, with a total estimated value of nearly VND 150 million.
Upon receiving the information, the unit promptly coordinated with other functional forces at the airport to verify the owner of the belongings. The property was later confirmed to belong to Mr. P.A., an Indian national.
According to the verification results, the Indian tourist had visited Vietnam for travel and had flown from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City before continuing his journey back to India. The authorities worked with airline representatives and relevant units to return all the belongings to the passenger.
After being notified that his lost luggage had been found, the male tourist sent a letter of thanks to the airport authorities. Thanks to the prompt support of the functional forces, all the belongings were recovered intact without any loss.
