Da Nang strengthens cooperation with Thai partners
DNO - Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People’s Committee Tran Chi Cuong hosted a meeting with Sanan Angubolkul, President of the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association, on March 6 during the latter’s visit to the city.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman Tran Chi Cuong said Da Nang has expanded cooperation with Thai localities in logistics, trade, tourism, human resource training, and investment connectivity through the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC).
Thailand currently has 18 FDI projects in Da Nang with total registered capital of more than USD 130 million, mainly in retail, livestock farming, and manufacturing.
Thai tourist arrivals have also increased, supported by the EWEC route and the direct Bangkok - Da Nang flight. In 2025, the city welcomed about 313,000 Thai visitors (accounting for 4.1% of international arrivals), while 62,683 Thai visitors were recorded in the first two months of 2026.
As Vietnam and Thailand prepare to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations and the 30th anniversary of the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association in 2026, Da Nang hopes to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in high-tech industries, high-tech agriculture, educational cooperation, expert and student exchanges, and business connectivity.
The city also proposed enhancing the transport route from Ubon Ratchathani through southern Laos to Nam Giang International Border Gate to reduce logistics time and costs.
City leaders also emphasised the importance of maintaining people-to-people exchanges, cultural and artistic activities, and annual trade fairs to strengthen economic and cultural ties.
Sanan Angubolkul thanked city leaders for the warm reception and expressed interest in expanding cooperation with Da Nang, especially in investment, high-tech agriculture, and business linkages aligned with the city’s development plans.
