In his remarks delivered at the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu stated that the presence of international partners demonstrated their keen interest in the new developments in Vietnam in general, and Da Nang in particular, in the process of building an International Financial Center and deepen integration into global markets.

He stressed that green finance development was not merely an economic goal but a key lever to upgrade capital markets, connect with global capital flows, and support strategic infrastructure projects in technology and clean energy.

Green transformation, sustainability, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards are major themes drawing increasing global attention and have become key priorities for many countries. At the same time, they represent a vast market with ample opportunities for participants.

Viet Nam is facing significant development opportunities, but also challenges regarding resource constraints as it strives to achieve the goal of becoming a upper middle-income country.

Therefore, building an International Financial Center is seen as a strategic and crucial breakthrough task to mobilize medium-and long-term financial resources, promote innovation, and enhance national competitiveness.

To realize this orientation, in the coming period, the Executive Agency of the International Financial Centre in Da Nang will promote the establishment of at least two to three specialized trading platforms, including a digital asset exchange and asset tokenization platforms operating within a regulatory sandbox framework.

These platforms are expected to create new channels to mobilize capital for major infrastructure projects in Da Nang, the central region and nationwide.

At the same time, the city will study the development of a pilot carbon trading center within the framework of the Vietnam International Financial Centre in Da Nang, thereby directing investment flows toward sustainable development projects.

Vice Chairman Buu stated that Da Nang highly appreciated the role of international organizations, including the UK Skills Partnership, along with representatives from reputable educational institutions and professional organizations in the UK in contributing to policy orientations and practical solutions related to green finance and vocational skills development, creating a positive knowledge spillover effect.

Following the successful first-phase fact-finding mission to Da Nang in early January 2026 by experts from UK Skills Partnership, the conference provided an open platform for in-depth discussions and practical policy recommendations to help Da Nang proactively identify risks, seize opportunities from financial integration and promote sustainable investment development.
