Kim Bong Craft Village Festival 2026: 500-year-old heritage comes alive in Hoi An
DNO - The Traditional Kim Bong Craft Village Festival will take place on February 27 - 28, 2026 in Hoi An, Da Nang.

The event combines the Kim Bong Ancestral Commemoration Ceremony with a vibrant program of cultural and community activities, celebrating more than 500 years of craft heritage.
The festival opens on the afternoon of February 27 with a traditional boat race along the river bordering the village.
The steady rhythm of oars slicing through the water, accompanied by cheers from both riverbanks, creates a festive and energetic atmosphere.
The race offers visitors a glimpse of a lively riverside Hoi An beyond the well-known ancient town, highlighting the area’s enduring river culture.
From later that afternoon, a wide range of activities will officially begin, including craft exhibitions, live demonstrations and hands-on experiences.
Visitors can explore a recreated Kim Bong countryside market, take part in folk games, enjoy local cuisine and join “bai choi” folk singing exchanges.
These activities are designed not only for observation but for participation, encouraging meaningful engagement between artisans and guests.

The Kim Bong Ancestral Worship Ceremony will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on February 28 at the village communal house.
This solemn ritual pays tribute to the founding masters who established the carpentry village and passed down their skills and industrious spirit through generations.
It serves as a reminder of the craftsmanship and perseverance that have defined Kim Bong for centuries.
Throughout the festival, visitors can directly experience the village’s traditional trades, including carpentry, wood carving, boat-building, bamboo weaving, mat weaving and the making of do paper.
River-related crafts such as net weaving and basket making will also be showcased. Importantly, these activities are presented in their authentic form rather than as staged performances, enabling visitors to observe, and even take part in, genuine, hands-on craftsmanship.
