Hai Van Gate sees surge in visitors during early Lunar New Year

DNO - In the first days of the Lunar New Year 2026, Hai Van Gate has welcomed thousands of locals and tourists visiting for spring outings.
Hai Van Gate sits atop the Hai Van Pass, marking the boundary between Hue and Da Nang and offering travelers a scenic stop on journeys through central Vietnam.
Following the completion of restoration and preservation work on December 21, 2024, Hai Van Gate national relic has emerged as a cultural and historical stop along the Hai Van Pass linking Da Nang and Hue.
During the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 holiday, the site welcomed thousands of domestic and international visitors each day.
At the site, visitors can explore its history and key structures, including the "Thien Ha De Nhat Hung Quan" (The most marvelous wonder) gate, guard and armory houses, fortress walls and lookout posts.
The location also offers panoramic views of Hai Van Pass, Da Nang's coastline, and Lang Co Bay. Also, visitors can access modern amenities such as 3D digital tourism maps and NFC-enabled information points.
The Hai Van Gate national relic sits at an elevation of about 490 meters on the Hai Van mountain range, spanning Hai Van Ward in Da Nang and Chan May-Lang Co Commune in Hue.
The structure is a striking example of military fortification architecture and is widely regarded as one of Vietnam's most imposing mountain passes, holding significant cultural and historical value.
