Ceremony held in Da Nang to celebrate 76th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - China diplomatic ties

DNO - A ceremony was held in Da Nang on Friday evening to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 - January 18, 2026) and to welcome the Lunar New Year 2026.

The event was jointly organized by the Da Nang Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam - China Friendship Association in the city, and the Consulate General of China in Da Nang.

Attending the event were leaders of Da Nang, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyu, representatives of foreign consular offices and international organizations in the city, representatives of Chinese enterprises operating in Da Nang, staff of the Chinese Consulate General, and Chinese lecturers and students currently studying in the city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chinese Consul General in Da Nang Dong Biyu affirmed that over the past 76 years, economic and trade cooperation between China and Vietnam has continuously expanded and deepened. At the same time, the bilateral relations have become increasingly close.

She expressed her confidence that, under the strategic leadership of the senior leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, along with the broad support from all sectors of society, the China - Vietnam relations will become even stronger in the time ahead.

Entering the lunar new year, the Consulate General of China in Da Nang will continue to serve as a bridge to promote the building of a China - Vietnam community with a shared future in a more substantive and in-depth manner.

In his remarks at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh stated that Da Nang has always proactively contributed to fostering friendship between the two countries through practical cooperation activities.

To date, Da Nang has established official friendship and cooperation ties with five Chinese localities, namely Shandong Province, Jiangsu Province, the Macao Special Administrative Region, Kunming City (Yunnan Province), and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The city has consistently maintained delegation, cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and boosted cooperation across various fields.

China is also one of Da Nang's leading tourist sources and key trading partners. Da Nang has attracted 142 Chinese-invested projects with a total investment of US$556 million, primarily focused on the processing and manufacturing industries.

“We highly appreciate the effective bridge role of the Consulate General of China in Da Nang in connecting businesses and promoting cooperation programs between central Vietnamese provinces and Chinese partners” Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh emphasized.

He pledged that the city government will continue to create the most favorable conditions for Chinese partners and enterprises to operate effectively, thereby contributing to the shared prosperity of both countries.
