Horse mascots as centerpiece

These days, many public spaces across Da Nang have become increasingly vibrant as floral and lighting decorations are installed at an accelerated pace.

This year's design concept takes the horse mascot, which is considered as a symbol of strength, aspiration, and a spirit of breakthrough, as the central theme.

The main mascot installations are planned for the sidewalk area of the T-shaped bridge, the landscape area at the end of the Dragon Bridge, and several urban squares.

Within the overall decorative scheme, the two horse mascots stand out as the most prominent features. The first, titled “Kim Ma Hop Nhat” (Unified Golden Horse), is placed on the sidewalk platform in front of the T-shaped bridge, representing the image of present-day Da Nang.

The artwork is created using an artistic lettering technique that assembles the city’s name along with those of its 94 commune-level administrative units, including 23 wards, 70 communes and Hoang Sa Special Zone. Measuring approximately 3.7m x 3.8m x 1.5m, the mascot conveys a sense of grandeur while expressing the spirit of unity and innovation.

Meanwhile, the second mascot, named "Golden Horse 4.0" is installed on the southern landscaped area at the end of the Dragon Bridge. Designed in a modern, mechanical-horse style, the sculpture stands about 4.3 meters tall, over 5 meters long and 2.6 meters wide.

This imagery evokes a spirit of innovation, speed, and adaptability, symbolizing the city's aspiration for development in the context of digital transformation and smart city building.

Both mascots were crafted by artisan Dinh Van Tam from Quang Tri Province, while the overall design concept was proposed and sponsored by HUNI Viet Nam Co., Ltd. The combination of creative vision and artisanal craftsmanship gives the mascots duo both artistic value and a strong developmental message for the city.

High expectations for 2026 Tet Flower Street

Although still under construction, the flower street area along the Han River has already attracted large numbers of visitors to visit and capture early spring moments.

Many have expressed positive feedback on this year’s design, particularly the use of mascots as focal points conveying messages of urban development and modern dynamism.

Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hanh, a resident of Hai Chau Ward, said “This year’s decorative space has been designed in a well-structured and professional manner. The synchronized investment from the city center to other areas gives Da Nang a more unified and vibrant appearance for the Lunar New Year”.

With such large-scale preparation, the spring floral displays, artistic lighting and mascot symbols are expected to further enhance the city’s appeal during the Tet holiday. Beyond serving as a sightseeing attraction, the flower street also helps promote the image of Da Nang as a dynamic and friendly city as well as foster a sense of community connection in the early days of the lunar new year.
