Da Nang inaugurates nameplate of Hoang Sa Special Zone People's Committee

DNO - The People's Committee of the Hoang Sa Special Zone, Da Nang, held a ceremony on Wednesday to inaugurate its nameplate at the Hoang Sa Exhibition House located at 284 Hoang Sa Street, Son Tra Ward.

The project is an integrated complex comprising a nameplate, a sovereignty stele and a flagpole. It is located within the premises of the Hoang Sa Special Zone People’s Committee.

Behind the structure is a monolithic stone wall, measuring 10.5 metres by 3.15 metres, engraved with the inscriptions “Quan Dao Hoang Sa thuoc lanh tho Vietnam” in Vietnamese and “Hoang Sa (Paracel Islands) is Vietnam’s territory in English.

The sovereignty stele is crafted from a single block of granite, topped with a five-pointed yellow star. Its body bears inscriptions affirming national sovereignty, while the front face displays an information plaque with the name and address of the Hoang Sa Special Zone People’s Committee. The flagpole is made of rust-resistant stainless steel, mounted on a granite base, and flies the national flag of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Nam Hung emphasized that the inauguration of the nameplate project was not merely the installation of an administrative signboard, but also a powerful symbol of the full, continuous, and lawful presence of the Vietnamese Government over the Hoang Sa Archipelago.

He added that the project also contributed to completing the architectural and landscape space of the area, and adding a meaningful landmark with educational and communicative value, serving both the public and domestic and international visitors.

Vice Chairman Hung requested the People's Committee of the Hoang Sa Special Zone to continue upholding its achievements and constantly innovating the content and methods of communication.

He also urged stronger coordination with research, educational, and media agencies both inside and outside the city to further disseminate the historical, legal, and cultural values related to maritime sovereignty, so that Hoang Sa truly becomes a spiritual anchor and a shared source of pride for people nationwide.

On the occasion, the People's Committee of the Hoang Sa Special Zone displays and introduces 50 documents and images about the process of building sovereignty markers and infrastructure on the Hoang Sa Archipelago.

In addition, there are Vietnamese- and French-language press materials reflecting the process of exercising Vietnam's sovereignty over the Hoang Sa Archipelago, along with selected documents and images demonstrating the consistent stance of the Vietnamese State in affirming its sovereignty over the Hoang Sa Archipelago.
