Da Nang to host U17 & U23 Asian Wrestling Championships 2026 in May
DNO - Following the success of the 2025 U17 and U23 Asian Wrestling Championships, the Asian Wrestling Federation has officially awarded Vietnam the hosting rights for the 2026 edition.

Organized by the Asian Wrestling Federation, the tournament is scheduled to take place from May 23 - 31 in Da Nang. The city's facilities have been assessed to fully meet the tournament’s technical and organizational requirements.
This year, Vietnam’s wrestling team hopes that its young athletes will continue to achieve the best possible results. Currently, the Wrestling Department under the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Wrestling Federation are developing a plan to select and train athletes for the national team.
In 2025, Vietnam hosted the U17 & U23 Asian Wrestling Championships for the first time, with the event held in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the tournament, Vietnamese wrestlers won several medals, including a silver medal in the U23 women's 53kg category by Nguyen Thi My Linh, a bronze medal in the U17 age group's 43kg category by Nguyen Ngoc Thi, a bronze medal in the women’s 65kg category by Doan Thi Thuy Dung, and a bronze medal in the U23 men's 77kg Greco-Roman category by Nguyen Cong Manh.
