Wild Vietnam, the mysterious beauty of nature reborn
DNO - In the latest episode of “Le Jardin Extraordinaire”, aired on February 1 on La Une (RTBF), Tanguy takes viewers to Vietnam, a land of largely untouched nature hidden behind dense forests and mountain ranges, where green life has resiliently regenerated after the devastation of war.
According to the Vietnam News Agency in Brussels, the episode “Wild Vietnam - Mysterious and Extraordinary Nature” opens in remote reserves whose isolation has helped protect some of the world’s rarest species.
In the remote forests of Vietnam’s northwestern mountains, the critically threatened pangolin continues its quiet fight for survival. Within the dense canopy, rare species such as the masked palm civet and the mossy frog blend almost seamlessly into the ancient green landscape.
The journey then moves to Ha Long Bay, where towering limestone karsts rise above emerald waters. Here, the critically endangered Cat Ba langur, one of the world’s rarest primates, survives in extremely small numbers, symbolising the ongoing struggle between conservation and human pressures.
Each spring, Vietnam’s old-growth forests come alive as millions of butterflies take flight, creating a magical yet fragile spectacle. It is a vivid reminder of the extraordinary richness of the country’s ecosystems.
Protected by a strong network of national parks, Vietnam continues to conserve its rich biodiversity, including the elusive binturong- a nocturnal bearcat that reflects the mystery of its natural world.
Through “Le Jardin Extraordinaire”, Vietnam emerges not merely as a destination, but as a world still waiting to be explored. It is a land where nature, though once deeply scarred, continues to regenerate with quiet resilience, preserving its primordial values amid the unceasing flow of time.
