DNO - “Vietnam is a booming spa holiday destination, according to Google searches from travellers worldwide, and it’s no surprise why. From luxe to less, in Vietnam, there’s a treatment for literally everybody”, wrote journalist Christine Retschlag on The New Zealand Herald.

As reported by Vietnam News Agency, in a recent article published by The New Zealand Herald, journalist Christine Retschlag highlighted Vietnam’s remarkable ascent in the global spa tourism market.

Citing the 2025 Spa Trends Report by SpaSeekers, she noted a 175% surge in Google searches for “spa in Vietnam” during 2024, just one year after Vietnam was named Asia’s Best Spa Destination at the 2023 World Spa Awards.

According to Retschlag, the figures underscore Vietnam’s growing reputation as a destination offering premium wellness experiences at accessible prices.

One of Vietnam’s key strengths lies in the breadth of its spa offerings, catering to a wide range of travellers, from high-end wellness seekers to budget-conscious visitors.

Retschlag described a variety of standout treatments, including detox hydrotherapy circuits that combine steam rooms, saunas, ice baths and hydro showers, often paired with full-body exfoliation and foot reflexology.

In addition, there are immersive sound healing sessions designed around the body’s seven chakras, aimed at restoring emotional balance and inner calm.

Among the most memorable experiences was the Azerai Asian Wave massage, a signature treatment that blends Swedish, Thai and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi techniques with Japanese Shiatsu therapy.

Stress-relief hair treatments and acupressure massages further demonstrated the sophistication and therapeutic depth of Vietnam’s wellness offerings.

This journalist also expressed particular appreciation for the thoughtful post-treatment rituals. Guests were served light refreshments and guided through meditation or calming chants, practices she observed were uncommon in many spas elsewhere in the world.

For treatments designed to promote emotional balance, clients were also guided through meditation and calming chants after the sessions concluded.

Retschlag ultimately concluded that deep relaxation and a sense of renewed vitality were the most rewarding impressions she gained from her wellness retreat in Vietnam.

The Fusion Resort & Villas Đa Nang has become the first in the country to receive the WITT (Wellness in Travel & Tourism) Certified designation from WITT Certified, a prestigious global wellness certification.
