Leading search trends

Data from major online travel platforms such as Agoda and Booking.com shows that Da Nang is not only maintaining a stable position in the domestic market but is also witnessing the growing interest from international travelers.

According to Agoda's search data analysis, in 2025, Da Nang recorded the highest growth in search volume among Vietnamese tourists, representing a 29% year-on-year increase.

At the same time, data from Booking.com continues to place Da Nang among the most searched domestic destinations by Vietnamese travelers throughout the 2026 Tet holiday.

Accordingly, in the pre-Tet period, when the demand for early spring travel and year-beginning getaways begins to take shape, Da Nang ranks among the top choices, second only to Phu Quoc.

During the Tet holiday, search trends continue to lean towards destinations that can accommodate extended holidays, and offer a strong festive atmosphere and a rich range of experiences. Da Nang maintains its prominent position, alongside major tourism hubs such as Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi, and Vung Tau.

Over the post-Tet period, as travel trends shift toward relaxation combined with slower-paced, immersive experiences, Da Nang remains among the most sought-after destinations.

Its consistent appearance among the most searched destinations on online travel platforms demonstrates Da Nang’s ability to flexibly adapt to changing market demands and travel trends.

Also, this result reflects the effectiveness of investments in infrastructure, product diversification, and service quality enhancement, thereby strengthening Da Nang’s position as a favored destination for both domestic and international visitors during the peak early-year travel season.

Attracting high-end travelers

In the early days of the new year, Da Nang's tourism sector has witnessed a strong increase in international arrivals from high-end markets.

Surveys conducted by travel companies and service providers show that travelers from Europe, Australia, and North America are returning to central Viet Nam with a distinctly new travel mindset. Rather than following tightly packed itineraries, today’s visitors increasingly prioritize green tourism, local cultural experiences, and environmentally responsible travel.

In particular, longer stays of three to five days are becoming more popular. Instead of limiting themselves to city centers, many travelers are choosing nearby rural areas in search of tranquility and more human-centered values.

Ms. Anna, a visitor from Australia, shared “Our group stayed for two nights in the outskirts of Hoi An. What impressed me was not only the hotel's comfort but also its operation under a circular tourism model. Visiting nearby rural villages was the most memorable experience for me. I will definitely return and recommend this place to my friends”.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2026 the city’s tourism sector will continue to focus on attracting high-spending, long-stay tourists.

Efforts will be made to developing new, specialized products tailored to specific market segments and travel trends, with an emphasis on resort tourism, culture, traditional craft villages, cuisine, heritage, green tourism, and community-based tourism.
