High-altitude fireworks to light up Hoi An on Lunar New Year’s Eve 2026
DNO - A wide range of cultural and artistic activities will take place in Hoi An, Da Nang during Tet 2026, with the most anticipated highlight being a high-altitude fireworks display on Lunar New Year’s Eve.

Kicking off the festive series is the 10th edition of the Cam Ha Ornamental Kumquat Festival on January 28 and 29 at the Trang Keo Lake in Hoi An Tay Ward.
The festival features exhibitions showcasing the traditional Cam Ha kumquat-growing craft, the spring-themed food fair “Flavors of Spring”, and displays of OCOP products and local agricultural specialties.
The Binh Ngo 2026 Spring Flower Festival will be organized from February 9 - 16 (22nd to 29th days of the 12th lunar month) across Hoi An Ward. The event is expected to be a popular destination for spring excursions, sightseeing, photography, and shopping, featuring vibrant displays of flowers, ornamental plants, and decorative flora and fauna.
The “Tet Cay Neu” (New Year's Tree) competition 2026 will be held from February 10 - 23 (23rd day of the 12th lunar month to the 7th day of the 1st lunar month) at historical sites, communal houses, temples, clan halls, government offices, schools, and residential areas in the wards of Hoi An, Hoi An Dong and Hoi An Tay, and Tan Hiep Commune.
The exhibition "Traditional Tet Space in Hoi An" will run from February 9 - 13 (22nd - 26th days of the 12th lunar month) at the Hoi An Museum. It will recreate a traditional Tet market atmosphere with exhibition booths, demonstrations of making traditional candied fruits and cakes, tea tasting, calligraphy writing, and hands-on experiences of old-style Tet shopping.
On the night of the 29th day of the 12th lunar month, in the ancient town, a spring blessing procession featuring artists performing traditional ‘sac bua’ singing and dancing will parade through the streets and present spring couplets to residents and visitors.
The most eagerly awaited event is the Lunar New Year’s Eve countdown program at the Hoi An Park, culminating in a spectacular high-altitude fireworks display.
Following the Lunar New Year holiday, a series of traditional folk festivals associated with craft villages and agricultural heritage will take place.
Included will be the Tra Que Vegetable Village’s Cau Bong Festival on the 7th day of the first lunar month, the Ancestor Worship Ceremony and the Kim Bong Craft Village Festival on the 11th and 12th days of the first lunar month, and the Cam Nam Sticky Corn Festival scheduled for the 19th and 20th days of the first lunar month.
Alongside these traditional rituals, a continuous lineup of recreational activities, artistic performances, and folk games will be organized throughout the Tet holiday to serve residents and visitors.
