Da Nang targets high-spending travelers
DNO - According to statistics from the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the average length of stay of international tourists in Da Nang is about two days, higher than in previous years.

This reflects a growing trend toward deeper travel experiences and increasing spending levels among visitors. It also presents an opportunity for the local tourism sector to attract high-spending travelers and create momentum for a breakthrough in 2026.
High-end accommodation and modern infrastructure
Da Nang currently has 2,365 accommodation establishments providing a total of 62,000 rooms. With 164 4-to-5-star hotels and resorts offering more than 31,000 rooms, the city leads the country in high-end accommodation, bringing together many of the world’s leading hotel management brands.
According to Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of the Indochina Unique Tourist Co., Ltd., along with traditional tourist sources, potential markets with long stays and high spending such as India, the Middle East, and Europe are on rise, significantly contributing to the growth of Da Nang tourism.
Some markets are expected to record positive growth in 2026, such as the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (30 - 40%), Southeast Asia (15 - 30%), India (10 - 20%), and Europe, North America, and Australia (10 - 15%).
From 2026 onwards, expanded air connectivity opens up major opportunities for Da Nang in the international tourist market.
Alongside a rise in visitor numbers, Da Nang’s air route network continued to expand and diversify in 2025 with eight domestic and 18 regular international routes. It is expected that in March 2026, Sun Phuquoc Airways will launch regular flights connecting Phu Quoc with Da Nang, whilst Indonesia AirAsia will open a new air service between Bali (Indonesia) and Da Nang.
In the future, Da Nang International Airport will be upgraded to handle up to 30 million passengers per year by 2050. Meanwhile, Chu Lai Airport is envisioned as an “aerotropolis”, integrating logistics, industry, commerce, and a free trade zone.
These are considered important factors contributing to maintaining the growth momentum of aviation and creating additional room for the development of tourism in Da Nang in the coming months of 2026 as well as in the medium and long term.

Focusing on high-quality tourism products
Director of the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the city’s tourism promotion and communication plan for 2026 will revolve around the theme “New Da Nang - New Experiences”.
This message not only highlights the renewal of tourism products, spaces, and services but also reflects the city’s efforts in refreshing its image as a modern, friendly and sustainable destination.
By 2030, Da Nang aims to become a high-quality tourism and service hub, a green and innovative tourism destination in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, and a leading destination for heritage tourism.
By 2050, Da Nang eyes positioning itself as one of Asia’s leading tourism destinations, a major center for high-end, green, and smart beach and eco-tourism, and a venue for international conferences, events, and festivals.
