Air route development - A foundation for tourism growth
DNO - Entering 2026, aviation continues to play a vital role in connecting passenger flows, enhancing destination accessibility, and creating spillover momentum for Da Nang’s entire tourism and service sector.

A driving force for visitor growth
With a dense operating frequency, an expanding network of air routes, and a continuous growth in international markets, Da Nang is entering the 2026 Tet holiday tourism season with a proactive and ready mindset. The city continues to affirm its image as a dynamic, conveniently connected, and attractive destination in the central region and the whole country.
According to information released by Da Nang International Airport, the Chu Lai Airport and the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company, from February 14 - 22, 2026 (from the 27th day of the last lunar month to the sixth day of Tet), the total number of flights arriving in and departing from Da Nang is estimated to exceed 1,500 flights, up 37.8% compared to Tet 2025.
The average daily flight frequency is expected to reach around 175 flights, indicating a continued strong increase in demand for travel, tourism, and family visits during the Lunar New Year.
Notably, in January 2026, this growth trend is expected to continue, with the total number of domestic and international flights to Da Nang and Chu Lai estimated at 4,500, a rise of 15.4% compared to the same period in 2025.
These flights are expected to serve more than 671,000 passengers, with an average frequency of about 145 flights per day. Of the total, international flights are estimated at nearly 2,100, continuing to play a crucial role in boosting visitor arrivals to the city in the run-up to Tet.
Building on the stable growth of the first two months of 2026, Da Nang’s air route network is expected to further expand from March 2026.
In particular, Sun Phuquoc Airways is set to operate the Phu Quoc - Da Nang air service while Indonesia AirAsia plans to launch the Bali (Indonesia) - Da Nang route from March 20, 2026, with four flights per week. These are considered important factors contributing to maintaining the growth momentum of aviation and creating additional room for Da Nang’s tourism development in the coming months of 2026.

Laying a favorable foundation for peak season
At the recent meeting "Aviation accompanies Da Nang’s tourism 2025" organized by the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi stated that as tourism continues to be a spearhead economic sector, the city expects airlines to join hands in opening new routes, increasing flight frequencies, enhancing service quality, promoting international market outreach, and coordinating large-scale promotional activities in the coming years.
Particularly, the municipal People's Committee is proposing that the Ministry of Construction implement an investment and operation project for Chu Lai Airport and its associated airport-centric economic and urban ecosystem under a public -private partnership (PPP) model, with total investment capital of up to US$ 10 billion.
“We firmly believe that with a sustainable linkage between aviation and tourism, Da Nang will continue to make strong strides toward becoming a safe, attractive, high-quality destination in the region and globally” Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.
