Da Nang to build over US$5 million bridge
DNO - Da Nang is set to further consolidate its reputation as Vietnam’s “city of bridges” with the planned construction of Dong No 2 Bridge.

This is a key infrastructure project with a total investment exceeding VND128 billion (approximately US$5 million).
The bridge will span the Co Co River in the Hoa Quy - Dong No area of Ngu Hanh Son Ward, contributing to the gradual completion of the southern riverfront transport network of the city.
According to project plans, Dong No 2 Bridge will have a total length of 128.7 metres, comprising three spans measuring 35.5 metres, 55 metres and 35.5 metres respectively.
The bridge will be 14.5 metres wide and equipped with a synchronized lighting system along both the bridge deck and its approach roads, ensuring traffic safety while enhancing the urban landscape along the river.
Designed as a permanent structure, the bridge has a projected lifespan of up to 100 years.
It will meet strict requirements for load-bearing capacity, road traffic safety and navigational clearance, allowing vessels to pass smoothly along the Co Co River corridor.
Beyond the bridge itself, the project includes comprehensive investment in access roads, drainage systems, road markings and traffic signage in line with current technical regulations.
The lighting system will utilize energy-efficient LED lamps mounted on galvanized steel poles, with underground cabling to improve safety, durability and aesthetic appeal in the riverside area.
Once completed, the project is expected to strengthen transport connectivity between residential areas, unlock development potential in the Hoa Quy - Dong No zone, and stimulate economic and urban growth along Da Nang’s southern riverbanks.
More importantly, the new bridge adds another landmark to Da Nang’s distinctive bridge system, reinforcing the city’s long-standing vision of using iconic river crossings as drivers of mobility, urban identity and sustainable development.
